Training Workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation of Scaling

The three day training workshop entitled Monitoring and Evaluation of Scaling was held in Addis Ababa at Magnolia Hotel from July 16-18 2018. The objectives of the workshop were review scaling concept used in CASCAPE and their definition; exchange experiences and knowledge between different clusters regarding the scaling approaches; develop guidelines for monitoring and evaluation of scaling of CASCAPE best fit practices and define next steps to facilitate hand-over and embedding of CASCAPES approaches in participatory research and extension at national and regional level. All scaling experts in each cluster and cluster managers were participated in the training workshop.

Director-General for Agricultural Extension at the ministry, Ato Wondale Habtamu made an opening speech and his colleague W/o Yenenesh Yogu extension directorate director made a presentation on scaling strategies of the ministry and participated in the discussion with CASCAPE team for the first day of the workshop.  In addition Dr Eyasu Elias CASCAPE project manager emphasized institutionalization of CASCAPE‚Äôs best fit practices in the agricultural extension systems. The training workshop was concluded with an agreement to conduct an outcome monitoring of two CASCAPE best fit practices per cluster with a harmonized guide from the CASCAPE management team.
